Environment Protection Agency provides, according to its own endowments obtained by its own means as well as by means of collaboration, for the information on the quality status of all environmental features, of their evolutions, including of the ecological balance, and enforces for each particular case specific legal provisions, follows and analyses the manner in which competent county authorities, economic agents and natural persons from the county jurisdiction, accomplish the obligations incumbent according to the law concerning the environment protection, by taking necessary measures for this purpose.          

          The specialists of the Agency  have certain responsibilities concerning the environment protection, offer support for the economic agents for establishing the causes that lead to environmental factors quality impairment and eliminating them: they take an active role in finding the environmental factors quality status as well as in establishing and implementing the measures taken for eliminating the causes that lead to  impairment of tenvironmental factors quality, of the ecological balance, of life resources and life quality.  

            The agency is controlling and is supporting the implementation of the measures for the conservation of national parks, of natural reservation , of other protected areas and of the natural monuments found in the county. It is the initiator of actions taken for enlarging the green areas, etc. 

             The Environment Protection Agency draws,  in collaboration with competent local authorities, papers and technical reports concerning the evolution of environment factors quality, the life quality and the ecological balance in the areas in its jurisdiction, which it analyses and establishes measures together with local authorities and with local economic agents and which it conveys to Environment Protection Regional Agency,  Environment Protection National Agency, Environment and Forests Ministry. 

             The Environment Protection Agency examines technical documentations drawn for the objectives having an impact on the environment in view of  issuing technical advice, agreements, notifications, environment licences at the request of economic agents, including the checking and the field control of the veracity of data meant to be authorized. 

            In the field of ecological recontruction and preservation, the agency aims at the implementation and the observance of legal provisions and comes forward with measures for ecological improving or reconstruction.

             The Environment Protection Agency ensures the popularization by means of media and also by means of education institutions of the environment protection  problems, promotes the durable development and the enviroment protection for present and future generation.
